White thread CRUCIFIX logo on a broken in but great condition vintage Levi's denim jacket. Freehand flames are embroidered on the right cuff.

This type of embroidery is accomplished via a hand-crank chainstitch sewing machine where the operator rotates a knob to manually "draw" the design out with the stitch. It's a laborious and time consuming process. The machine I use is a Cornely A, made in the France in the 1930's, and recently refurbished using original Cornely parts.

Sizing:

The size on the jacket reads "Small", but this jacket fits more like a 38/40.

In the picture: I am 6' 1" and modeling the jacket in the pictures. On me, it has a slightly loose fit and can be buttoned easily.

One note: I use a water soluble stabilizer on the back side of the embroidery that gets mostly torn off after completion. You will see remnants of this surrounding the stitching upon receiving the jacket. The stabilizer will dissolve if you wash the jacket, or when it gets wet for the first time.

Personally, I don't like running these jackets through the washer and so a good way to remove it without washing is to just give the inside a good spray with a hose at some point and then hang it to air dry.
