Multicolor chainstitch embroidery of the CRUX logo. This is embroidered on a fittingly light-wash vintage Levi's denim jacket.

PLEASE READ: This is a vintage jacket and the previous owner seemingly washed it with a very pungent detergent. As such, it currently has a somewhat strong detergent smell that I expect will fade over time as worn. I ran it through the wash before embroidering, and then sat around a fire outside for about an hour which seemed to help. I imagine if you're smoking, drinking, acting cool - and generally living life in the jacket for a week or two the smell should fade.

This type of embroidery is accomplished via a hand-crank chainstitch sewing machine where the operator rotates a knob to manually "draw" the design out with the stitch. It's a laborious and time consuming process. The machine I use is a Cornely A, made in the France in the 1930's, and recently refurbished using original Cornely parts.

Sizing:

The size on the jacket reads 38.

In the picture: I am 6' 1" and modeling the jacket in the pictures. On me, this jacket fits well and can be comfortably buttoned.

One note: I use a water soluble stabilizer on the back side of the embroidery that gets mostly torn off after completion. You will see remnants of this surrounding the stitching upon receiving the jacket. The stabilizer will dissolve if you wash the jacket, or when it gets wet for the first time.

Personally, I don't like running these jackets through the washer and so a good way to remove it without washing is to just give the inside a good spray with a hose at some point and then hang it to air dry.
